Places I planned to visit - Bakong is the first temple mountain at Angkor constructed by Khmer rulers around 881 A.D. Bakong was the state temple of Indravarman I (877-886) dedicated to Lord Shiva at his capital Hariharalaya . Later the capital was moved from Hariharalaya (modern Roluos) to the present Angkor - the site of the more famous Angkor Wat and Bayon temples.
